Three Chances To Walk For Wishes In New Jersey

Early fall is a great time to get out and enjoy good weather before it becomes winter. In New Jersey this fall, there are three opportunities to get out and get some exercise, while also helping Make-A-Wish New Jersey.

There are three Walk For Wishes events in the Garden State this season, which means no matter which Turnpike exit you live at, you can take part and help Make-A-Wish New Jersey grant wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Sept. 27, Walk For Wishes North Jersey

Liberty State Park in Jersey City (76 Audrey Zapp Dr.) is the host for the North Jersey event. 5K runners can take part in the USA Track and Field-certified and sanctioned course that winds through the park and onto the promenade that overlooks the Statue of Liberty. Awards are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Overall Male & Female and Top Male & Female in the following age categories: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.

How Auto Donation Can Help Your Community

As summer comes to an end, you may find that the weeks have flown by too quickly for you to do everything you set out to do this summer. If one of your summer goals was to find a meaningful way to give back to your community, there’s still time and Wheels For Wishes is here to help. Through our auto donation program, we benefit Make-A-Wish and help them grant wishes for children who are facing critical illnesses. Donating is easy, hassle-free, and allows you to dispose of an unneeded vehicle while also giving back to your community!

How Does Donating A Car Help?

On average, Make-A-Wish grants a wish every 38 minutes. But even with that amazing rate, they aren’t able to reach every child waiting to have their wish granted. Donating your vehicle to Wheels For Wishes is a great way for you to help them reach more of these deserving children. When you donate a car, truck, RV, boat, motorcycle or almost any other type of automobile, Wheels For Wishes turns it into wishes for children in your community.

How To Donate A Car This Summer

For many people, the decision to make a donation to a charitable cause is an easy one. If you don’t have enough extra income to make charitable contributions, however, there is still a simple way that you can make a significant contribution to Make-A-Wish. If you’ve got a car that no longer runs or if it’s time to upgrade to a better vehicle, donating your old car can be an easy decision.

There are many options for people when it comes to replacing an old vehicle. Selling it yourself or trading it in can be stressful if you don’t know its fair-market value or you need to make repairs to it first. Selling a broken down car to a scrap yard can be difficult too. The cost of towing it to the yard may not balance out the payment you’ll get from selling it for scrap metal.

With all that in mind, it’s good to know that there is an easier alternative to all the stress of haggling with buyers on the price, towing the car yourself, or worrying that a dealer isn’t giving you a fair price.

This puts many children and young adults at risk. This is why it is so important to spread awareness during the month of May during National Brain Tumor and Neurofibromatosis Month. Celebrating Thomas Jeffersons Birthday With Wish Kids

On April 13 we will celebrate the birthday of Thomas Jefferson, one of the founding fathers and authors of the Declaration of Independence. He believed, like many of us, that the right attitude can make all of the difference in life. He is quoted as saying: “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” Here at Wheels For Wishes, we believe that the wishes granted through Make-A-Wish can help change a child’s outlook and positively affect their treatment. That is why we are so passionate about our car donation charity. Whenever you choose to donate your car, you are also choosing to help a child with a critical illness! This can help change a child’s life through the granting of a wish.

Jefferson knew a lot about working toward a goal and the influence a positive attitude can have toward achieving that goal. He is still remembered today as one of the most important historical figures in American history. We have gathered some facts about Jefferson that will help you to better understand our famous founding father.
