Golf Or Ride To Grant Wishes In Iowa

June 9, 2015

This July, golfers and motorcyclists have three great opportunities to help grant wishes in Iowa. This July there are two Wish Upon A Par events and one Wish Ride that you can attend to benefit Make-A-Wish Iowa. Your attendance will help grant wishes in places like Des Moines, Davenport, Cedar Rapids and everywhere in between.

Wish Upon A Par In Mason City

On July 9, come out to the Mason City Country Club (3331 19th St. SW) in Mason City for a great day of golf at Wish Upon A Par. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Calcutta Auction beginning at 11:30. The tournament kicks off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and will feature a best shot format.

Registration and sponsorship opportunities are available now. Register for $125 per person, or $500 for a foursome. Your fee includes a cart, green fees, dinner and participation in the evening's auction. If you are interested in sponsoring the tournament, please contact Jim Lensing at 641-424-2244 or Natalie Brecht at nbrecht@iowa.wish.org or 800-797-9474.

Ride To Grant Wishes

Get your motorcycle out July 11 for the North Iowa Wish Ride in Mason City. The ride kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Mason City Harley Davidson (706 S Federal Ave), where you can also pick up your route map, event t-shirt, and commemorative Wish Ride pin. You'll travel through Iowa, hitting several local bars before returning to L.D.'s Filling Station (620th St. NE) in Mason City. The fun doesn't end there. Following dinner, everyone can enjoy a great live and silent auction, and you'll have the chance to win $500. The evening will also feature live entertainment.

Registration is open now for a $5 discount. Advanced registration is $35 per person, and registration on the day of the event is $40. All proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish Iowa. You can register online, or by contacting Natalie Brecht at nbrecht@iowa.wish.org or 800-797-9474.

Wish Upon A Par In Des Moines

Come out to the Echo Valley Country Club (3150 Echo Valley Drive) in Norwalk on July 16 for the Wish Upon A Par tournament. Registration begins bright and early at 7 a.m. The tournament will kick off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start, and will feature a best shot format. Once the golfing is done, come back to the clubhouse for lunch and prizes. All of the proceeds from the day will benefit Make-A-Wish Iowa. You can register online now, or by contacting Natalie Brecht at nbrecht@iowa.wish.org or 800-797-9474. For sponsorship information, please contact Chelsea at cochylski@iowa.wish.org or 800-797-9474.

Donate Your Car To Benefit Make-A-Wish

If you can't attend one of these events, there's another great way for you to make a difference for Make-A-Wish. Donating your unwanted car, truck, boat, RV or motorcycle to our car donation program Wheels For Wishes will help grant wishes for Iowa kids. We auction or recycle donated vehicles, and the proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Iowa.

We make car donation easy and hassle free. Your vehicle doesn't need to be running or in perfect condition to make a difference. We accept nearly all makes and models in any condition. Since we offer free pick-up and towing, we can accept cars that don't run anymore. Just give us a call at 1-855-278-9474 or take a moment to fill out our online car donation form today. Your car donation makes a difference!
