7 Events Benefit Make-A-Wish South Dakota This July

If you're looking for a fun activity that helps a great cause this July, you have seven opportunities through Make-A-Wish South Dakota! With three golf events and several other happenings, there's something for everyone this summer. Get out your golf clubs, your motorcycle, or bring the family out to one of these events to help Make-A-Wish South Dakota grant more wishes to deserving kids this year.

Hot Harley Nights Is July 9-12

Hot Harley Nights celebrates its 20th year of raising funds for Make-A-Wish South Dakota this year. Come out to the J&L Harley Davidson July 9-12 to help raise funds for Make-A-Wish and celebrate the wishes that have been granted through the support of Hot Harley Nights. The weekend will feature a casino run, motorcycle parade, raffles, a bike show, and a great silent auction. Enjoy live music and great food all throughout the weekend. The Vermillion/Yanktown Dinner And Auction Is July 22

Mark your calendar for the annual Vermillion/Yanktown Dinner and Auction on July 22. The event takes place in Vermillion, and proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish South Dakota. On The Road For Wishes Poker Run Is July 25

If you've got a motorcycle and you're in the Aberdeen area on July 25, come out to the 12th Annual On the Road for Wishes Poker Run and Charity Ride to benefit Make-A-Wish South Dakota. The event features a poker run and casino ride, all to help grant more wishes for local kids. Check the event's website for more information.

FamilyFest Is July 25

On Saturday, July 25, get the family together and come to the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds (100 N. Lyon Blvd) in Sioux Falls for the annual FamilyFest. The fun goes from 9:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., and features something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Kids will have a blast on 15 inflatables, a zip line, trains, paddle boats and more. The event will also feature on-stage entertainment from magicians and entertainers. Parents will have the opportunity to learn about local services and companies from the vendor booths set up at the event.

Like To Golf? Choose From Three Different Outings This July

  • July 11: Dacotah Bank Golf Tournament. Come out to the Cattail Crossing Golf Course (351 S. Lake Drive) in Watertown for the Dacotah Bank Make-A-Wish Tournament. Registration starts at 10 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11. The tournament also features food and prizes. Teams can enter for a fee of $300. Contact the Dacotah Bank for more information about the tournament.
  • July 17: Farmers Charity Golf Tournament. The 10th Annual Farmers Charity Golf Tournament takes place at the Elks Lodge (3333 E. 39th St.) in Rapid City. Registration and a silent auction begin at 11 a.m., with lunch at 11:30 and the shotgun start at 1 p.m. The tournament will feature a 4-player scramble format. Individuals can register for $125. If you'd like to support the event even more, consider a sponsorship ranging from $250 to $1,000. Please contact Brad Derby at bderby@farmersagent.com for more information. 
  • July 20: Make-A-Wish Golf Tournament. Don't miss the 15th Annual Make-A-Wish Golf Tournament taking place at the Minnehaha Country Club. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf in a scramble format. Registration on the day of the event begins at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11:30. Teams of four can register for $2,400, and individuals can register for $600 each. Registration includes the golf, as well as lunch and two tickets per person to the evening's events. Whether you're attending one of these great events or not, there's one more way you can make a huge difference in the life of a South Dakota kid this summer. A vehicle donation to Wheels For Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish South Dakota will help grant more wishes for kids in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, and everywhere in between.

Wheels For Wishes accepts cars, trucks, boats, RVs and motorcycles, then auctions or recycles them to benefit Make-A-Wish South Dakota.
