3 Events Make Dreams Come True In Pennsylvania And West Virginia

August 22, 2017

Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia is giving you three ways to help make dreams come true in September. The Make Wishes Come True 5K Run and Walk, Wine and Wishes and Walk For Wishes are three fun-filled events that all raise funds to make dreams come true for local kids with critical illnesses.

Whether you live in the Greater Pennsylvania area or West Virginia, one of these events is probably in your neck of the woods. Read on for more details on these events, and check out the Make-A-Wish calendar for all the local events benefiting local kids!

Make Wishes Come True 5K Run And Walk

The Make Wishes Come True 5K Run and Walk is an opportunity to either take a nice walking stroll or a fun-paced 5K run with family and friends for a good cause. Not only is this event fun for you, but it also contributes to making dreams come true!

On Sept. 9, at 8:30 a.m., you can bring your running shoes to Wheeling Heritage Port in Wheeling, W.V. for this fun run or walk. Admission costs $3 for kids, $16 for those who register ahead of time and $20 on race day.

Wine And Wishes

All you need for this fun event is your taste buds! Wine And Wishes combines all the fun of a wine-tasting party with the pure excitement of making dreams come true for local kids! You, your friends and family will have the opportunity to taste local wines, eat delicious hors d’oeuvres, win big in the silent auction and take part in the mystery wine sale.

If you register on or before Sept. 22, tickets only cost $50! Plus, they are even less for your designated driver at $30. Sponsorship packages are also available if you want to go the extra mile to turn your fun experience into dreams coming true! This awesome event takes place on Sept. 28 at the Out Door Country Club (1157 DetWiler Drive, Yourk, Pa. 17404) from 6 to 8 p.m.

Walk For Wishes

Walk For Wishes is more fun with more numbers! Tell your friends, coworkers, company, family and neighbors to join you. Making dreams come true is a walk in the park!

Meet at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park (799 East Brockway Ave., Morgantown, W.V. 26501) on Sept. 20 at 9 a.m. for registration. The walk starts at 10 a.m., and the proceeds will benefit local kids!
