Help Grant Wishes For Wisconsin Kids At Wish Night 2013

Posted in Donate Car News, Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Wouldn’t you love if you could act as a fairy Godmother or Godfather to a deserving child for just one night? Wouldn’t you enjoy the opportunity to wave a magic wand and grant a wish? If you are interested in entering an enchanted land that will allow you to play a part in granting wishes, then look no further. When you attend the Wish Night 2013, benefiting Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, you can do just that!

Wish Night 2013 will allow you to enter an Enchanted Forest to play fairy Godparent at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee (333 West Kilbourn Avenue). Here, you will be able to listen to the remarkable story of Make-A-Wish Wish Kid Sarah Strong, as told by Emily Margaret Heitzer.

You Can Help Grant Wishes

The first Wish Night (previously called Host Night) took place back in 1994 and was presented by Les Weil and Jodi Peck. The event was started in honor of their daughter Kelly Weil and the Wish Night is still going strong after nearly twenty years later!

Wish Night is Make-A-Wish Wisconsin’s signature fundraiser and has raised over $4 million to date. Wish Night has provided wishes to more than 800 Wisconsin kids, and you can help this number grow just by attending the 2013 Wish Night on Thursday, April 11th.

Be A Fairy Godparent For A Night

You may wonder how your attendance to the 2013 Wish Night can make such a difference in a child’s life. Not only will you be showing your support for your local Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, but purchasing your ticket will also allow you to contribute to the funds that allow Make-A-Wish to grant wishes for local kids.

During Wish Night, you will also have the option to “Adopt-A-Wish” for one of three children. You can choose from Bryce, a 5-year-old wishing to go to LEGOLAND; Andreau, a 14-year-old who wishes to go to Fiji, or Steven, a 15-year-old who wishes to have a California Diner tour.

Not only will your attendance to Wish Night help to grant a wish for a Wisconsin child, but you will also have a blast the second you step into the Enchanted Forest. Beginning at 4:30pm is the Cocktail & Hors d’oeuvres Reception which features a Silent Auction, Raffle, Wine Pull ($25 to purchase a numbered wine cork which could allow you a chance to win a bottle of red wine, white wine, or champagne, all valued between $20 and $300), and the Kesslers Diamond Dig ($20 for a chance to win a set if 14kt. white gold diamond earrings).

Raffle tickets will go on sale at 4:30pm and winners will be drawn at around 8:45pm in the main ballroom. Raffle tickets are $25 each, or 3 for $50 and 7 for $100. Prizes could win you a one-week vacation at Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort ($2,250 value); a one-week vacation at The Pointe in Minocqua ($1,400 value), or a Home Entertainment Package featuring a Sony Bravia 46” LCD 1080p TV; an Insignia 1080p Blu-Ray player, and a collection of DVDs ($825 value). Plus, the Silent Auction and Voice Auction will both have tons of exciting options to bid on as well!

Enjoy A Magical Dinner

Aside from the many prizes you could go home with, you will also be provided with a spectacular three course meal, beginning at 6:30pm in the Enchanted Forest. After dinner, you will hear “The Tale of Sarah Strong” which features the story of Make-A-Wish Wish Kid Sarah Pease, as told by Emily Margaret Heitzer, a Milwaukee-based film and theatre actress. Her wish was granted back in 2005 and has allowed her to pursue on-camera acting as a career!

At 7:20pm, the Winner in “Sharing Happiness” Award will be presented with a Live Auction to follow at 7:30. Adopt-A-Wish will take place at 8:15 with the Raffle Drawing and Grand Finale to follow at 8:45. You will not want to miss out on this extravagant event that allows you to travel through the Enchanted Forest in your very own hometown of Milwaukee.
