It’s that time of the year again – it’s time to walk for wishes to benefit Make-A-Wish North Texas! Over the next two months, Make-A-Wish supporters and Texas residents can raise money and collect funding for the Make-A-Wish North Texas Walk for Wishes events. Choose from the Dallas Walk for Wishes on March 29, or the Odessa Walk For Wishes on April 5. Your participation makes a difference right here in Texas!
Be A Part Of The 9th Annual Walk For Wishes In Dallas
For the ninth year, Make-A-Wish North Texas will hold its Dallas Walk for Wishes event, featuring a 5k and fun run walk. The family-friendly event helps to raise money for children in North Texas who are battling life-threatening medical conditions. The average cost of a wish is $8,000, so each and every participant in the Walk for Wishes events can make a difference! This year, the first person who raises $1,000 will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a six-day, five-night beach vacation for two in Cancun, Mexico. Participants are entered for every $1,000 they raise, so don’t stop there!

Register online before the event for $15, adults ages 12 and up, or on the day of the walk for $25. Kids ages 5-11 walk for $10 when registered online before March 28, or $20 on Walk Day. Wish Kids (families excluded) walk for free.
If you cannot make the walk, you can still register as a Virtual Walker at no charge, but you are still able to raise funds to benefit Make-A-Wish North Texas. Alternately, there are plenty of ways to become a sponsor. You may also choose to support another walker or runner.
The 5k run and 1-mile walk will take place at Reverchon Park (3505 Maple Ave in Dallas). Participants are strongly encouraged to raise at least $100. Remember, all earned proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish North Texas, so the more you raise, the better!
Walk For Wishes In Odessa To Put A Smile On Local Children’s Faces
If you will be participating in the Odessa Walk for Wishes event, you will want to head to the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (4901 E University Blvd. in Odessa) on April 5. Like the Dallas Walk for Wishes, this event is also a 5k run and 1-mile walk. Walkers or runners are not timed.
Register online by April 4 to save $10 on your registration fee. Adults ages 12 and up walk or run for $15, or $25 if registering on Walk Day. Kids ages 5-11 walk for $10 when registered online before March 28, or $20 on Walk Day. Wish Kids or Virtual Walkers participate for free.
For both walks, participants are asked to create a team t-shirt to wear to the event, and a prize will be awarded to the team with the most creative shirt.
