This spring, there are three great opportunities to help Make-A-Wish Oregon to grant the wishes of Oregon kids. On Saturday, April 26, enjoy a Walk For Wishes event in Salem, which will be the perfect warm-up opportunity before the Make-A-Wish Oregon Sense 5K on Saturday, May 3. After you’ve burned some calories while walking or running, treat yourself to a plate of waffles at the Waffles and Wishes fundraiser on Thursday, May 15. By participating in these three events, you can help Make-A-Wish Oregon in reaching their goal of granting 200 wishes during the 2014 year!
Walk To Be A Superhero For Oregon Wish Kids

Whether your favorite superhero is Batman or Princess Peach, you are wanted at the Walk For Wishes event on April 26!
This year’s Walk For Wishes will be held at Riverfront Park in Salem. Registration opens at 9 a.m. with the opening ceremony and walk beginning at 10 a.m. Enjoy a wide variety of post-walk activities from 11 a.m.-Noon, which include ice cream, snacks, and family-friendly activities.

Dust off your favorite superhero costume and be a Wish Hero for Oregon kids with life-threatening medical conditions.
Test Your Senses And Grant Wishes At Sense 5K
On May 3 in Portland, your senses will be put to the test. The Sense 5K celebrates the five senses and lets racers experience each and every sense, all for a great cause. In addition to the 3.1 mile run, runners will have their senses tested with special effects, live acrobatic entertainment, pyrotechnics, dancing, custom music, and a live DJ.
Registration to the event will not only provide participants with a day of excitement, but also a t-shirt, sweatband, race bib, and custom sense 5K decal. Register today and participate for $60 each, or enter the race as a spectator for $15. Spectators can enter the main Sense Festival Area and will also enjoy pre-race entertainment. Plus, earned proceeds from both participants and spectators help to grant wishes for Make-A-Wish Oregon. For more information, please visit the Sense 5K page.
Have A Stack Of Waffles For A Great Cause
Even if you are on a diet, treat yourself to some waffles and wish granting, especially if you just participated in the Walk For Wishes or Sense 5K events. The Waffles and Wishes event benefits Make-A-Wish Oregon and will be held from 8-9 a.m. on May 15 at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront (1401 SW Naito Parkway). The event is free to attend and offers a glimpse into the wish making process while also helping to raise money for Make-A-Wish Oregon. To reserve tables of ten or more, please contact Jessica Kolkmeyer.
