This August you can help grant wishes in Wisconsin at one of three upcoming events that are sure to be a great time. The 6th Annual Yacht Blast for Kids – for Wish Families only – is Aug. 16, the Brew City Classic Charity Horse Show is Aug. 22-23, and the Sargento Make-A-Wish Golf Event is Aug. 26. All of these events are great ways to help Make-A-Wish grant more wishes, bringing more hope, strength, and joy to children with critical illnesses.

Cruise Around The Milwaukee Harbor At The Yacht Blast

This special event just for Wish Kids and their families started after a Milwaukee businessman on a trip to Florida happened across a Wish Family that was enjoying a vacation through Make-A-Wish. The man met the family when they saw him pulling up to a marina in his boat. The Wish Kid, a young boy, excitedly told the man that someday he wanted to ride in a boat like that. Their heart-touching encounter inspired the man to give back to his community once he later learned that the trip to Florida was the boy’s last vacation. Back in Milwaukee, he created the Yacht Blast event to provide other Wish Families with the joy of taking a carefree cruise around beautiful Lake Michigan.

This year, on Aug. 16, Wish Families can come down to the McKinley Marina (1700 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr.) from 2-5 p.m. to take part in this fun event. Also at the McKinley Marina from 2-5 p.m. is the Classics for Kids classic car show. Following the boat rides and car show, there is an After Blast party from 4-11 p.m. hosted by the Milwaukee Yacht Club. The After Blast includes entertainment, raffles, great food, and auctions. All of the proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Wisconsin.

For those who are interested in sponsoring the event or donating to it, there are options available to you at the event website. This way, you can support Make-A-Wish Wisconsin even if you can’t partake in the day’s fun. Come Down To The Fairgrounds For A Show

This year is the 2nd annual Brew City Classic Charity Horse Show held at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in West Allis (640 South 84th Street). The show takes place Aug. 22-23 and features beautiful Tennessee Walking Horses, Spotted Walking Horses and other Gaited Breeds. Opportunities are available for those who would like to sponsor this great event. You can also buy raffle tickets to be entered into drawings for exciting prizes. Visit the Brew City Classic website for all the information you’ll need on tickets, show schedule, and registration.

Grant Wishes at the Sargento Make-A-Wish Golf Event

On Aug. 26, golf enthusiasts will enjoy coming out to one of Wisconsin’s best private golf courses for a day of great golf and fun activities, all of which benefit Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. The event is held at the South Hills Golf & Country Club in Fond du Lac (1175 Fond du Lac Ave.) and starts with 10 a.m. registration and an 11 a.m. shotgun start. A reception and silent auction starts at 4 p.m., followed by dinner, a live auction and awards at 5 p.m.

Many opportunities are available for those who would like to sponsor the event. Those who would simply like to golf to support Make-A-Wish can purchase a foursome for $600.

In addition to golfing at a premier golf course, partaking in a great auction, and helping to grant wishes for kids in Wisconsin, attendees will also get to meet Green Bay Packers legend and recent Hall of Fame inductee Dave Robinson! There are tons of reasons to come on down to this event to support Make-A-Wish.

You Have The Power To Grant Wishes In Wisconsin

With the variety of these events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this August in Wisconsin! These events aren’t the only way to help grant wishes in Wisconsin, though. Anyone with an unwanted car has the power to help grant wishes! Do you have an old car that didn’t quite last through the summer or is taking up needed space in the garage? You can turn that car into a wish when you donate it to Wheels For Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. Take a moment to call us today at 1-877-431-9474 or fill out a donation form online. Your car donation is tax deductible and contributes to the green movement because it will either be recycled or auctioned and reused. The best thing that comes out of your car donation, though, is that the proceeds from its sale go to Make-A-Wish, helping them grant wishes and bring hope, strength, and joy to children when they need it most.
