At last year’s first Evening of Wishes, Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island raised more than $250,000 to fulfill wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 500 children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island are newly diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions each year, and as the chapter embarks on granting wishes to all children who need, events like this year’s Evening of Wishes are all the more important.
The second Evening of Wishes to celebrate wishes in Rhode Island will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Crowne Plaza Garden Pavilion in Warwick, R.I. Last year’s inspiring event featured a “Wish Child” performing a song for the crowd, and the mother of a “Wish Child” talking about how important Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island was to her family in the granting of her daughter’s wish.

There’s So Many Ways To Grant Wishes
If you can’t make it to the Evening Of Wishes, you can still help Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. By donating a vehicle to Wheels For Wishes, benefiting Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, you are helping Make-A-Wish grant wishes for a local child. Wheels For Wishes helps turn unwanted cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, motorcycles, or boats into wishes for a local child.
If you have a vehicle to donate, please call 1-877-431-9474 or fill out our easy online donation form. Both ways only take a minute of your time. In addition to making you feel better, you get a maximum possible tax deduction, as well as saving yourself the hassle and aggravation of selling or disposing of your unwanted vehicle. Most importantly, you are helping to change the life of a child by creating the lasting memories that come from having a wish granted.
