The Walk For Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington is on Sept. 14 at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Wash., and you can participate for free! The Walk For Wishes is a family-friendly 5K walk and fun run. This includes snacks – including the popular Taco Time food truck – kids’ activities, wish inspiration and entertainment by the popular children’s band, Recess Monkey.

You can take the first step in making wishes come true for local children battling critical illnesses by registering for this. Those who raise $100 or more by Aug. 29 will receive a commemorative Walk For Wishes t-shirt. Plus, the top individual fundraiser will be awarded two roundtrip tickets from Alaska Airlines – a $2,500 value. Additionally, the top fundraising corporate team and friends & family team will be awarded with an ice cream party complete with a special visit from a Wish Kid!

Get Dressed Up & Run In Costume

You don’t just have to show up to walk or run in comfortable workout gear, you can express yourself and take part in the event in costume! Whether you want to come dressed as your favorite superhero, princess, wizard or other figure – you will be walking among heroes! Prizes will be awarded for most team spirit and best individual costume.

Part Of A Team? Become A Wish Champion

Walk For Wishes team captains can boost their recruitment and fundraising by becoming a Wish Champion. Each Wish Champion level includes exclusive benefits that your team will receive at the Walk and will get you in the spirit for the event. Make-A-Wish staff coaches are ready to provide special support to ensure your team’s success to reach your fundraising goals. Once you register for the Walk, you will receive emails announcing new goals and incentives. Be sure to encourage and communicate with your team to get everyone involved! These weeks are meant to inspire increased recruitment and fundraising efforts for Walk For Wishes.

Wish Champion fundraising levels and team benefits are: Wish Trekkers ($500 goal and Walk For Wishes team swag); Wish Dashers ($1,000 goal. Benefits are the previous level benefit plus a team poster to carry on the walk); Wish Marchers ($2,500 goal. Benefits are the previous level benefit plus a reserved table and chairs for up to 15 people, special verbal recognition at event and a professional team photo taken at the Walk); Wish Paraders ($5,000 goal. Benefits are the previous level benefit plus access to a VIP tent, including opportunity for a meet-and-greet with a Wish Kid, express check-in at the VIP tent, reserved table and chairs for up to 20 people under VIP and tent commemorative T-shirt for your entire Walk team.)

Wish Champion deadline is Aug. 29. To maximize Wish Champion fundraising each participant must raise a minimum of $100 by Aug. 29 to qualify for a commemorative Walk For Wishes t-shirt.
