4 Wisconsin Events In August To Benefit Make-A-Wish
Late August is a busy time for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, which means there are plenty of opportunities for you to help grant wishes. Whether you live in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, Kenosha or anywhere else in Wisconsin, you can help a child who is facing a critical illness. No matter your leisure activity: walking, running, golfing or going for a motorcycle ride, you can get involved!
Walk For Wishes, Aug. 22
The Milwaukee Walk For Wishes on Aug. 22 is at the north gate of the Henry W. Maier Festival Grounds. The event features a 5K or 1-mile walk, run or wheelchair race along Milwaukee’s scenic Lake Michigan shoreline. In order to receive a walk t-shirt, each participant must raise $75 or more. Registration is now available at the event’s website.
Registration is free to those who pre-register by noon on Friday, Aug. 21. New this year, if you can’t attend the Walk For Wishes in your community, you can still help make wishes come true as a virtual participant. Simply register and when asked how you wish to participate, choose “Virtual Walker.” You can raise funds with your friends and family and are still eligible for all of the benefits of participating in the event.

Help Make-A-Wish Even If You Can’t Make One Of These Events
Even if you’re unavailable for one of these events, there are many ways you can help in the process of granting wishes. Did you know that 3 out of 4 wishes require travel? If you have frequent flier miles, you can help those wishes come true by donating your miles through the Wishes in Flight program. Miles from several major airlines are accepted, and all of them will help Wish Kids reach their destinations.
Another way you can help grant wishes is through a vehicle donation. If you have a vehicle you no longer need taking up space in your garage, consider donating it to Wheels For Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish. We accept cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles and more. Plus, your vehicle doesn’t even have to be running. We offer free pick-up and towing, and you receive a great tax deduction in return. Your vehicle will be auctioned or recycled, and the proceeds from its sale will help Make-A-Wish Wisconsin grant more wishes across the state!
To make a donation, please call us at 1-877-431-9474 or complete our online vehicle donation form. Your car will be picked up at no cost to you and be on its way to helping wishes come true.
