Many workplaces have tried to mandate that dressing for work means no jeans, at least for Monday-Thursday. But for one week, casual dressing at work can mean a lot to an Illinois child. Make-A-Wish Illinois’ annual Jeans for Wishes campaign runs from March 18-22, giving companies, organizations and schools the opportunity to let their employees dress down while raising money.
Whether you can wear jeans at work or not, you can still help by donating a vehicle to Wheels For Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish Illinois. Either way, you can help grant the wish of a local child in your community.
How Jeans For Wishes Works
Companies can choose one day during the week to encourage employees to donate $5 to wear jeans for that day, or even allow jeans to be worn all week for a $20 donation. Schools select $1 to $5 donations for jean-wearers. Does your workplace or school allow jeans already? No problem! Employees and students can still be part of this statewide fundraiser by making a donation and wearing their favorite sports apparel – especially important with the college basketball tournament starting and the Blackhawks playing great hockey.
If the week of March 18 doesn’t work for your school or office – don’t worry. Flexible options for participating include take part on a different date, timeframe or donation amounts that best suit an organization’s culture.
How Can My School Or Workplace Get Involved?
Groups that participate will get a Jeans For Wishes starter pack, which includes a banner, promotional materials and stickers to be given to individuals wearing jeans. Your employees or students can learn more about the Wish Kids that will benefit, so they can see how their donation directly impacts the life of a child with a life threatening medical condition and helps make their dream come true.
Signing up has never been easier: Go to the Jeans For Wishes website to create a username and password that are easy for your group to remember, and encourage employees to join and contribute. That’s it! The website makes it easy to keep track of donations and see the progress that you’re making towards your fundraising goal.
When you participate in Jeans For Wishes, you do so knowing that you’ll bring joy and hope to a local child. More than 10,000 Illinois children have had their wishes granted since 1985, and that happens because of the participation of people like you. Register your organization, school or workplace today.
