Walk For Wishes Helps Benefit Connecticut Kids
For some families, there’s nothing more fun than taking the family to the zoo on a beautiful spring afternoon. But on May 11, you’ll be able to go to the zoo and help make the dream come true of a child with a critical illness.
Make-A-Wish Connecticut’s Walk For Wishes takes place on Saturday, May 11, at Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, Ct. All of the proceeds from the walk will benefit Make-A-Wish Connecticut, and the money raised will help pay for the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
Make A Difference In Your Community
Participating in the 1-mile Walk For Wishes or the Fitness Challenge allows you to personally make a difference in the community in which you live. Registration is $10, which includes zoo admission, parking, event t-shirt and access to Post Event Wish Celebration with food, music and entertainment.
There is no registration charge for Wish Families and children under 3 years old. You can also take part as a “virtual walker” – if you can’t attend, you can still raise pledges for to help make wishes come true. Depending on how much you raise, there are prizes available, starting at $100 raised.
Registration for the walk begins at 4:30 p.m., with the walk and Fitness Challenge from 5:30-6:30. The party, featuring a DJ, kids entertainment, carousel rides, prize drawing and food, will run until 8 p.m.
Register Online Today
Walkers can register online as teams or individuals. If you can’t attend, you can make a general donation to support the even. When you Walk for Wishes, you will feel great about bringing joy and hope to a local child. Wish Kids also attend and they will get so much joy from seeing how many caring, supportive people are there walking for them!
If you can’t make the walk, you can still contribute by making a vehicle donation to Wheels For Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish Connecticut. Both are great ways to help grant the wish of a local child in your community.
