Join in on the 2012 SFPD Challenge this weekend for a fun-filled Saturday at Aquatic Park in San Francisco. Not only will you have three different events to pick from, but all earned funds benefit make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area. Aside from donating a vehicle to Wheels For Wishes, benefiting Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area, this is an outstanding way to give back to your own community during the holidays.
Plunge For A Cause
Even if you don’t have enough time to raise funds for the event, you can still participate in a few different ways. Since the SFPD Challenge consists of three events (going from 9am-3pm), you have plenty of opportunities to help out and join in on the fun.
One of the three events, the Santa Plunge, begins at 9am and gives people the opportunity to learn just how chilly the San Francisco Bay is. Registration starts at 8am and all participants must be registered and ready to plunge by 8:45, so arrive early!
Registration is $25 per person and participants can sign up as an individual or as a team. Those who raise funds of $50 or more receive an event hat. Towels, hot drinks, and showers are also provided.
Test Your Strength In The Santa Pull
The next event for the day is the Santa Pull, going from 10am-Noon. During the Pull, teams of six compete against one other team to see who can pull a cable car the fastest distance of 200 feet. Registration begins at 8am and teams will be on the lineup to participate anytime between 10am and Noon, but must be ready to go by 9:30.
Registration is $25 per person, and each participant who raises $50 or more will receive an event hat. Start funding today, but even registering and participating in the pull or plunge helps out! Plus, it provides great entertainment for those who aren’t participating!
Enjoy Coffee And A Relaxing Meal To Benefit Make-A-Wish
It’s Saturday—a day of relaxation and doing whatever you want to do. So why not head over to Buena Vista Café to enjoy a hot cup of world-famous Irish coffee and a warm meal, especially after taking the Santa Plunge!
Your server for the day will be a SFPD officer who is working hard to take in generous donations to benefit Make-A-Wish. 100% of tips for the day will benefit Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area!
Help Out With Car Donation
Even if you can’t physically participate in these events, there are still ways to help out. Whether you enjoy a meal at Buena Vista Café and leave a tip donation, make a General Donation online, or help out as an Event Sponsor, you will make a difference. If you can participate in the events, register today!
You can also help out your local Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area by donating that old car of yours that takes up space in your driveway or garage. Why not give that car a new purpose and transform it into a wish for a local child? When you donate a vehicle to Wheels For Wishes, you can be the one to make a child’s wish come true.
